Chris’s Approach to Digital Parenting
I’m Chris, a licensed therapist and the founder of Tech Addiction Experts. I work with kids and families navigating screens and technology decisions every day.
I created this work because I kept seeing parents overwhelmed by advice that felt unrealistic, extreme, or fear-driven. What most families actually need is clear, practical guidance that fits real life.
At its core, this work is about slowing things down, building skills over time, and helping parents make thoughtful decisions, whether they are preparing for what comes next or trying to steady things when screens are already causing stress.
The Digital Driver's License
A self-paced course that helps families build the skills kids need before and after getting a smartphone.

10 Short, Practical Lessons
The course includes ten focused lessons that cover the most important parts of growing up online, from smartphone readiness and social media to scams, addiction, and digital permanence.

Go At Your Own Pace
Parents and kids can watch lessons together or on their own, building shared understanding and language along the way. There’s no pressure to rush, and no expectation to “finish” before real life gets in the way.
-
Focus on Understanding, Not Fear
Instead of rules built on panic, the course focuses on helping kids understand decision-making and digital judgment, so they are better prepared to navigate online situations when adults aren’t around.
-
Built for Parents and Kids
Each lesson includes guidance for parents and conversation prompts for families, so you’re not just setting limits, you’re building understanding and trust together.

It’s not about when. It’s about how.

What matters more is how kids are prepared to handle screens,
boundaries, emotions, and online pressure once a device enters their life. This short, free quiz helps you step back and get clarity on what your child
